Hood Warfare 2 has six modes:

The store page names four areas: downtown, the suburbs, The Trenches and Chicago Mall, with indoor and outdoor routes. The developer's patch notes also mention a small supermarket map, where time-to-kill is short.
Weapons, loadouts and progression
- Attachments: swap sights, magazines, grips, suppressors and more on each gun.
- Loadout: pick perks and equipment before each match.
- Reputation: play matches and level up to unlock more weapons and equipment.
- Attachments are earned through weapon challenges, and kills with each gun unlock new skins for it.

- Voice chat added. Talk to the whole lobby or just your team. Push-to-talk is on by default (T); you can switch to open mic in Settings.
- Anti-cheat added, plus a Report option in the pause menu. The developer says players with many confirmed reports will be banned.
- Spawn changes and spawn protection, so players are less likely to die right after spawning.
- 10+ bug fixes, including loadout presets not saving, progression not showing at the end of a match, player selection not saving and inaccurate ping on the join-match screen. Drive-by locations were adjusted on some maps.
