What the live number means
- It is the number of Steam accounts in the game at this moment (concurrent players), refreshed every two minutes.
- It excludes PURPLE, NC’s own launcher, so the real total is higher.
- Player counts rise and fall daily: they peak in the evening of the biggest regions (Europe and North America) and dip during weekly maintenance.
How to read the trend
- Compare the number at the same time of day on different days; morning vs evening comparisons mislead.
- Launch-week MMOs normally lose part of their peak in the first weeks as free-to-play visitors leave; a stable weekend number is the better health signal.
- Big drops during maintenance windows are not players quitting — servers are offline.
