Cyberpunk 2 Release Date: Is There One Yet?
Cyberpunk 2 has no release date yet: CD PROJEKT RED hasn't announced a year, a release window or platforms for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The game, first known as Project Orion, entered preproduction in spring 2025, and its team had grown to 184 developers by the end of July 2026, according to the company's H1 2026 earnings call. When could Cyberpunk 2 come out?
CD PROJEKT RED hasn't given any date, so any year you see elsewhere is a guess. What the company has said points to a long road:
- It was still in preproduction at the last official word, and CD PROJEKT said in November 2025 it was "too early" to talk about the next phase.
- The Witcher 4 is much further along. It's in full-scale production with a planned release window in 2028 (H1 2026 results), and its team (519 developers) is almost three times the size of Cyberpunk 2's.
- Cyberpunk 2077 took about eight years from its 2012 announcement to its December 2020 launch (Wikipedia).
We'll update this page as soon as CD PROJEKT RED announces a window, platforms or a trailer.
