MW4 Multiplayer: Release Time, PC Attestation Fix, Maps & Modes
Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer launches with the full game on Friday, October 23, 2026 at midnight local time on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Battle.net, Steam, Xbox on PC) and Nintendo Switch 2. Official posts list a Campaign Early Access (from October 16) and a DMZ Early Access (from October 20) for digital pre-orders, but no separate Multiplayer early access. At launch you get 12 core 6v6 maps, the reconfiguring Kill Block map (500+ layouts) for Gunfight, and new modes such as Inflation, Hijack and Combat Outpost. On PC, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are both required: without them you can't play any online mode, and the "attestation requirement not met" message usually means your PC failed that check.

Activision says the full game "releases on October 23 at midnight local time" (PC blog), so it unlocks at 00:00 in your own time zone rather than at one global moment.
PC: "attestation requirement not met" fix
The message usually means your PC failed Activision's security check: MW4 on PC requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Activision says players who don't meet both are "restricted from playing any online game mode" in MW4 (Activision Support). That's stricter than Black Ops 7 and Warzone, which only restrict some playlists.
- Check TPM: press Win + R, type
tpm.mscand look for "The TPM is ready for use" and Specification Version 2.0. - Check Secure Boot: Win + R,
msinfo32, then look for BIOS Mode: UEFI and Secure Boot State: On. - Enable what's missing in UEFI/BIOS: Intel PTT or AMD CPU fTPM for TPM, then Secure Boot (needs UEFI mode and a GPT disk). Follow your motherboard maker's guide.
- Run Activision's Secure Attestation Wizard (linked on the support page) to see exactly which check fails.
- Say Yes to the UAC prompt (CODBrokerInstaller.exe or enrollaik.exe) on first launch. Saying No blocks play.
- Still failing? AMD fTPM firmware versions 3.*.0.* and some Intel INTC 302.12/303.12 versions need a BIOS update.
Windows 10 needs version 22H2 or later. Windows 11 PCs usually have both features on already.

- Inflation: every elimination drops cash; dying leaves part of yours behind; the team with the most cash wins.
- Hijack (6v6): carry, pass or throw a Data Spike to the enemy Comm Station and plant it to score.
- Collateral (5v5) and Frontline (6v6) were also shown for the launch lineup at COD NEXT. Collateral is a Search & Destroy-style mode where you start with a pistol and buy armor, perks and gear between rounds. Frontline is team respawn from a fixed base, with more points for kills outside the enemy base.
What's new in MW4 multiplayer
- Two Prestige paths: Classic resets unlocks for more XP and exclusive rewards; Regular returns you to Level 1 but keeps your Create-a-Class unlocks.
- Create-a-Class at launch: 33 weapons (24 primary, 8 secondary, 1 melee), 28 Apex Attachments, 500+ attachments, 17 Killstreaks, 18 Perks (Pick 3), 11 Field Upgrades. Operators and Killstreaks are set per loadout.
- Apex Attachments unlock when you max a weapon and change how it works (for example the M4 "Hurricane" SMG conversion).
- No hipfire bloom: hipfire shots go where the gun points.
- Smartstreaks: objective play counts toward Killstreaks as well as kills.
- Camos: each weapon's camo track spans Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone, with three Mastery Camos per mode (nine total).
