Pokémon GO Minior: Every Core Color, Meteor Shower Dates & Shiny Status

By the Gamecodely editorial team · Updated

Minior is in Pokémon GO now: it debuted as Green Core Minior in the Orionids Minior Shower, October 19 (5:00 PM) to October 24, 2026 (11:59 PM) local time. It appears in the wild in Meteor Form, most often from 5:00 to 9:00 PM local time each day, and every catch gives 1,000 Stardust. Minior has seven core colors (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). Niantic debuts a new color with each meteor shower (the Geminids bring a different one to each hemisphere); the next is the Leonids, November 14–19, 2026 (Geminids December 11–16). Shiny Minior isn't available yet and hasn't been announced.

Each Minior Shower starts at 5:00 PM on its first day and ends at 11:59 PM on its last day, local time (Pokémon GO).

How to catch Minior in Pokémon GO

  1. Play during a Minior Shower. Minior only appears in the wild during the meteor-shower events above.
  2. Go out between 5:00 and 9:00 PM local time. Shooting stars light up the in-game sky and Minior is more likely to appear.
  3. Look for Meteor Form. Wild Minior always shows up in its rocky Meteor Form. The core color is revealed when you catch it.
  4. Use a Star Piece if you're farming: it raises the 1,000 Stardust per catch to 1,500.

Minior's form change in battle

Minior brings a battle mechanic that's new to Pokémon GO: it changes form mid-battle. It starts in Meteor Form (higher Defense, lower Attack). When its HP drops below 50%, the shell breaks and the core is exposed (higher Attack, lower Defense).

For now the form change only happens in battles against Team GO Rocket, team leaders and in the GO Battle League. Minior isn't eligible for the 2027 Latin America International Championships.

Can you get shiny Minior in Pokémon GO?

Not yet. Shiny Minior isn't available during the Orionids shower, and Niantic hasn't announced a shiny release. Shiny debuts are usually announced in the event post, so we'll update this section as soon as one is announced for a Minior Shower.
